The perpetrators of the raids that took place in a Tower of the same name would have also left a signature. Male Angoino, where two fires were recorded yesterday, and in the Royal Palace, where an office was ransacked.

Two writings – “Lupin Angioino” and “Maschio Angioino” – on a sheet of paper were found by the Digos and the Scientific Police in the targeted office of the Royal Palace, during the investigations coordinated by the Naples investigating office headed by acting prosecutor Rosa Volpe.

The “signature” of the perpetrators of the fires and vandalism at Palazzo Reale was found in an office of the historic Palace overlooking Piazza del Plebiscito, ransacked by unknown persons: the writing “Lupin Angioino” was written with a red nail polish found in a drawer. The writing “Maschio Angioino” was instead made with a yellow highlighter.

The two fires that affected the castle symbol of Naples were started inside a warehouse of the Torre dell'Oro and the other outside the monument, in a garbage bin. Events that at the moment seem to be linked to the vandalism discovered in an office of the Royal Palace.

Based on the evidence that has emerged so far, however, the anarchist motive – aired yesterday – seems to be weakening in favour of the hooligan act. It cannot be ruled out that the actions may be based on local squabbles, perhaps the reaction of someone who was fired or who was not hired.

Also being examined is the hypothesis of retaliation by someone who may have been denied a permit or authorization, given that the vandalized Palazzo Reale office is adjacent to those of the Superintendency. In the Palazzo Reale office, a computer and some folders were thrown to the floor.

The fire in the Torre dell'Oro of Maschio Angioino instead involved old municipal ordinances destined for the waste. It should be emphasized that the perpetrators of the acts would have entered the Torre dell'Oro through a door left open. Video surveillance is practically non-existent: the Digos is sifting through the very little material acquired, recorded with old analog monitoring systems.
