The Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park is one of the riches of our Campania. “Wealth” is not synonymous with money, but a much broader concept. The Park is memory, it is beauty, it is history, it is food, it is the future. Choosing the President of such an entity cannot be the result of yet another political division.
Unfortunately, up to now the names and arguments that we have been able to hear and read refer more to the needs of the internal balance of the majority gathered around De Luca, than to the needs of the people of our land.
The Mayor Pescatore's brother, Dario Vassallo, President of the Vassallo Foundation, reported it on the sidelines of the ruling of the Campania Regional Administrative Court that ascertained the illegitimacy of the appointments of the two extraordinary commissioners of the park authorities - made by the Minister of the Environment without activating the agreement with the Region - and ordered the minister to submit a list of three names, as required by law, in time to allow the President of the Region to express the agreement by 22 February 2023 on the appointment of the ordinary bodies of the two Park Authorities.
Among these is the Cilento National Park which was recently placed under government administration with the appointment of Marcello Feola.
Time passes in total silence but we have no more time. The Cilento National Park cannot be a fiefdom to be handed over to a new servant, but a territory to be returned to our people. President De Luca, Minister Pichetto Fratin, the future cannot wait any longer. This territory deserves the attention it deserves. In the same way, we renew the invitation to the mayors, affected by new and important changes, to work together and with a spirit of responsibility.
