In Vomero, a thief at work was stopped by a resident who, after filming the scene, reprimanded the criminal, lying under a car, who ran away accompanied by an accomplice who was carrying a bag containing his “work” tools.
The witness of the attempted theft reported the incident to the deputy of the Green-Sinister Alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli who intervened on the matter together with the municipal councilors of Europa Verde Rino Nasti and Luca Bonetti:
“Too many thefts are happening and thieves are acting more and more in a brazen and unscrupulous manner and this is due to the climate of illegality and anarchy that has been established for some time. Citizens are at the mercy of thieves, robbers and criminals (the witness told us that, after having warned the Police, he learned from the officers that in the evening they had already intervened 5 other times in the area for similar episodes) while the Institutions are not showing their muscles properly but are hesitating to intervene with determination. We need to crack down on this phenomenon: more officers, more checks and above all harsher penalties. The time for indulgence must end.”
