Investigation into the son of former footballer Iorgulescu, dispute between Italian and Romanian authorities

Mario is hospitalized in Italy for severe pathologies, since 2019, and the investigators of his country would like to subject him to process for a road murder of which it is believed responsible despite five expert reports declaring it unable di support il judgment.

However, the investigators in his country, without ordering any investigations of their own, continue to request the execution of the European arrest warrant issued against him.

“The Romanian media and prosecutor – concludes the Iorgulescu family lawyer – they have attacked Mario and his father, deliberately distorting the reality of the facts and his real health conditions, portraying my client as a fugitive who wants to escape justice, proceeding summarily and demonizing him"

"It is obviously right that criminal responsibility be ascertained, in a fair trial, and that the accused respond to the charges and defend himself. All this when there are the conditions to hold the trial. I believe that this is a violation of human rights."
