The video of the engineer from Genoa who refused a job worth 750 euros a month has gone viral.
The young woman, Ornella Casassa, was also criticized for her choice. She explained the reasons that led her to this decision.
Ornela Casassa is 28 years old, a civil engineer, she lives in Genoa and the video filmed in a club in the historic center of the city, in which she denounces "Having refused a starvation wage" has almost reached 200 thousand likes and exceeds two million comments.
The one who posted it on social media was the red-green regional councilor Selena Candia , who had organized the meeting and discussion of young workers on the evening it was recorded.

“Many criticized me: they said I was wrong, that they would have found someone else in my place right away and that I had lost my chance. There is great disillusionment among my peers, they think they have no value.
And there is a lot of fear: that fear that authorizes employers to pay us less and less, no matter how qualified we are. Because there is no difference between an engineer and a waitress: both, in front of an employer, today in Italy, are likely to receive the same unfair offers”.
