His show “Poubelle” on Friday 24th, from Mario Bros to Peter Pan, twenty-five costume changes in a few minutes.
A show for the whole family, adults and children. The second winter season of the Teatro Charlot continues on Friday 24 February at 21 pm with Luca Lombardo in “Poubelle”.
The amazing magician, actor, clown and quick-change artist will hold court for about two hours with a series of amusing monologues and conjuring tricks until he reaches his art of the quick-change with the long-awaited sequence of costume changes, twenty-five in all. On the trail of the great magicians and quick-change artists of history, not least the legendary Leopoldo Fregoli, the artist reconstructs on stage, as a perfect one man show, the features of a fantastic world, full of inventions, adventures, prodigious changes of costume and characters.
The work, written by Lombardo himself with Augusto Fornari, who signs the direction, has been performed 30 times in Italy and abroad: the quick-change artist has already performed in 12 countries. A self-produced show that manages to deal with delicate themes such as loneliness, diversity and abandonment and that hopes for an inclusive society, where the invisible can have their own stage, like the protagonist, the tramp Poubelle, which in French means wastebasket.
Lombardo becomes Mario Bros, Mary Poppins, the Chimney Sweep, Peter Pan and Lupin 3, telling, in those very tight times of change, a complex, painful and creative life path, the same one that took him from a military career to become a clown in a French circus. Also for the spectators of the Charlot, at the end of the show, a red clown nose as a gift, to reaffirm the dignity and poetic nature of circus art.
