The “most beautiful goal” of Diego Armando Maradona 's career , which is not the one he scored for Argentina against England in the 1986 World Cup , but rather a goal he scored with Argentinos Juniors in a friendly against Colombia , now restored and in colour.
Diego Maradona and “the most beautiful goal of his career”
From Argentina comes a splendid reconstruction of the footage, which until now had only reached us in grainy, black-and-white form. This is thanks to the work of the team at "Maradona Inedito ," a Twitter page that has reconstructed in minute detail the footage of what Maradona always called "the most beautiful goal of his career . "
It's 1980 , Diego hadn't yet turned 20, and on the pitch, with his Argentinos Juniors , he's challenging Deportivo Pereira . Listen to him and believe it: "They were throwing everything at me, they kicked me, and they all stayed on the ground. There's a photo of me hitting the ball into the net and they're all lying down, in a row."
The restored and colored images of the net: the goal is wonderful
Until now, this goal, which Diego has spoken about several times in various interviews, had only reached us through "cartoons" and various reconstructions. Until 2013, a black-and-white (and very poor quality) video surfaced of the 'Pibe de Oro's' famous goal in this friendly match in Colombia.
This is where the intense work of the Argentine team at "Maradona Inedito" began , spending over three months to capture the goal in the best possible quality, especially in color. And the result is worth it.
Maradona starts from his own half, a bit like the goal he would score six years later at the World Cup . Three defenders close him down, but he resists, passes, skips past them all, and finally the goalkeeper, placing the ball into the net.
In 2013 I came up to the light of this wonder, it was Diego's delight but if it was so bad, HASTA HOY. 3 months of work with @D_E_Carrillo to make you better and A COLOR (if better than ever). It's one of the many that will sell VIRALIZENLO. @NelsonBedoyaSan @Corpereira @victortuchi @JavierRoimiser pic.twitter.com/NYG2rfwnY3
