He was tracked down and arrested in the area of Eboli, in the province of Salerno, is the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing that occurred in Carrara on the evening of February 1st, near the Anderlino Bridge. The victim, a 35-year-old Moroccan man, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where doctors found a perforated intestine.
It took multiple surgeries to save his life, but after several days in a medically induced coma, the 35-year-old finally recovered and was able to leave the hospital. Immediately after the injury, the man was rescued by another compatriot who found him in a pool of blood. He then called for help from a security guard passing along Via Aurelia, who dispatched an ambulance and the Carabinieri from the Radiomobile unit.
The Carabinieri officers, following the blood trail, arrived at an abandoned house not far from the Anderlino bridge, occupied illegally by a group of North Africans, including the perpetrator of the stabbing, who, however, had disappeared. It was later determined that the two Moroccans, under the influence of alcohol, had begun arguing over trivial matters, which then took a turn for the worse. The 35-year-old was the one who suffered the worst injuries, having been stabbed in the lower abdomen.
During their search outside the house, the Carabinieri officers recovered a large kitchen knife still stained with blood, which the attacker had thrown away before disappearing.

His varied criminal record, in addition to various drug-related offenses, includes crimes involving violence. Carabinieri investigators have gathered a comprehensive body of evidence against him, which the prosecutor used to obtain an arrest warrant from the preliminary investigations judge.
Upon receiving the arrest warrant signed by the investigating judge, the Carabinieri of Carrara, under the command of Major Cristiano Marella, immediately began searching for the attacker, conducting patrols and checks in areas typically frequented by immigrants, including abandoned houses and the train station area. Investigations revealed, however, that the man had already left the city to evade capture, so the search for him was expanded throughout Italy.
Eventually, the Carabinieri discovered that the fugitive could have been hiding in the province of Salerno, so they began a close collaboration with their colleagues from the Eboli company who began combing the entire coastal area, where there is a very large pine forest that is often used as a hideout by illegal immigrants.
The search concluded Saturday morning, when Carabinieri officers raided one of the many abandoned farmhouses in Campolongo, on the outskirts of Eboli, finding the fugitive's hideout and arresting him for attempted murder. The 34-year-old is currently in prison in Salerno and will be questioned by magistrates in the coming hours.
