Spring illusion, but from Sunday the Ice Russian. Over the next few days, temperatures will remain at spring-like levels of 15-20°C, with peaks of 25°C on the major islands, but on Sunday, February 26, we will enter a new season.
Meteorologists predict that, as high pressure moves toward Northern Europe, a new Arctic core from Russia will descend on Italy at an abnormal speed: in less than 24 hours, between Saturday evening and Sunday evening, temperatures will drop by at least 10 degrees. Saturday will be mild, especially in central and southern Italy, almost warm in Sicily; on Sunday, snow will suddenly arrive almost as far as the Adriatic coast with the Bora wind.
Scattered rain is expected until Saturday, but still not enough to reverse the drought situation in the north. It will rain for 3-4 days, but in isolated and weak ways; from Sunday the cold will return, but also the dry climate in the northern regions. The forecast for rain and snow in the Center, however, will be totally different: in the next few days we will have passing clouds, but no precipitation is expected.
From Sunday the bad weather could get serious with snow at low altitudes in Marche, Abruzzo and Molise and between Monday evening and Tuesday morning also in Lazio, Umbria and Tuscany: a dusting during the night between Monday and Tuesday in Rome, Terni, Perugia and Florence is not excluded.
