Yesterday, February 6, the NGO ship called Sea-Eye 4 landed at the port of Naples – pier 21 carrying 105 refugees of numerous nationalities (mostly from the Sub-Saharan area) and 2 bodies currently being identified. The aforementioned had been recovered in the past few days, in international waters falling within the Maltese SAR area, by two separate vessels in distress, namely a dinghy and a wooden boat.

The immediate investigative activity, coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor's Office and aimed at identifying the so-called "smugglers", articulated through the acquisition of the ship's log, the questioning of the ship's captain and some of the refugees who had just disembarked, as well as the inspection of the cell phones used by the suspects, allowed us to gather serious evidence of guilt against the aforementioned.
