In Naples, yet another episode of youth violence has occurred, and this time the victim is a young woman robbed and stabbed in the legs by a youth gang.

A 30-year-old woman from Chiaiano was stabbed in the legs to steal her cell phone last evening in Materdei. The young woman was in Piazza Scipione Ammirato, near the Line 1 metro stop , when she was reportedly attacked by a gang of teenagers, presumably minors, who surrounded her, threatened her, and then stabbed her in the legs.

The incident reportedly occurred around 10:00 PM. Carabinieri officers from the Napoli Stella branch arrived immediately after receiving a report of an attempted robbery. The victim was treated by emergency medical personnel, who, after providing initial medical care, transported her to the emergency room of the CTO Colli Aminei hospital . The girl was not seriously injured. Doctors discharged her with a nine-day recovery prognosis.

“Our streets are no longer safe, especially at nightfall. We have seen too many citizens, tourists, workers and students victims of crime, violence and madness.

Too many thugs are walking around armed, risking killing people over nothing, and too often they get away with it or, if caught, get off lightly. It's time to fix this; the streets need to be better patrolled, and justice reform is needed, including for minors. People are afraid and need to be protected ,” said Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Greens-Left alliance.
