Recently, the NAS Carabinieri, in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, have conducted intensive checks throughout the country at general practitioners' and pediatrician's practices. These checks ensure the physician is present at the practice on the days and at the times communicated to the Local Health Authority (ASL) and conduct a general check on the proper management of the practice.
The checks also involved the provinces of Salerno, Avellino and BeneventoIn the province of Salerno, the NAS inspected 30 general practitioner and pediatric practices, seven of which were found to be non-compliant, having identified organizational or functional issues that were reported to the competent authorities for immediate resolution. In the Avellino and Benevento areas, however, three inspections were carried out per province, with satisfactory results.
