For several days, young patients in the pediatric ward of the Federico II Hospital in Naples have been hospitalized in the freezing cold because the heating isn't working. Several mothers have reported this to Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green Left alliance.
"Our children are hospitalized with medical conditions, but now they also have to deal with the cold. We mothers reached out, and the technicians came, but they told us that it would take several days to fix the heating, so our children would freeze in the meantime. Some of us have tried to mitigate the problem by buying electric heaters, but the situation remains unsustainable ," one of the mothers said.
"After the reports, we took action, but the mothers themselves told us that technicians had intervened in the last few days and that an air conditioner was already working. We don't understand, however, why action was taken only after the mothers' protest, when we should have been ready to welcome the little patients without inconvenience, given that we knew in advance that we would be facing a cold snap ," Borrelli said.
