According to what was published on the Facebook page “Nessuno tocchi Ippocrate”, a surgeon at the Santa Maria delle Grazie hospital in Pozzuoli was attacked on the night between February 24 and 25, when the patient's family was informed of his death. Only the arrival of the police prevented the situation from worsening.
This would be the fifth attack in 2023 in the ASL Napoli 2 Nord compared to 13 total violent events recorded between Napoli 1 and Napoli 2 since the beginning of the year.

“Despite the alarm raised for years, attacks and acts of violence continue to be recorded within healthcare facilities and medical personnel are increasingly frightened and discouraged and have lost faith in institutions. The permanent presence of law enforcement in emergency rooms had been announced.
But when will they really arrive in a stable and structured way? There are structures, like that of Pellegrini in Naples, where violence has become a constant, where there has even been shooting. Enough of announcing and proclaiming, we must do”, these are the words of the deputy of the Green-Left alliance Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
