On Thursday, in fact, it will be replaced by an area of low pressure located near the British Isles, which should be able to drive unstable and colder currents towards the Mediterranean basin.
According to meteorologists, during the day, the mercury column will rise above the seasonal averages, making us experience a new period of anomalous heat due to a vast field of high pressure that has occupied a large part of central and southern Europe for several days now, thus also enveloping our country, with temperatures in some parts of the two major islands and in some areas of the Alpine valley floors close to 20°C.
From Thursday we expect a return of precipitation starting from the Northwest, extending to other areas in the following days. Given the drop in temperatures, snow could also return, at times abundant, on the Alpine arc up to medium-low altitudes. The disturbance could also last for the whole of next weekend, with a more marked drop in temperatures.
