The suspension of scheduled admissions has freed up beds in various departments, reducing the criticality and waiting times on a challenging day for emergency physicians, who have been called upon to manage six red-code admissions and 47 yellow-code cases since this morning. "Those who were scheduled for admission today," management explained, "have been postponed, so we can better engage the entire hospital in supporting the emergency room, which is experiencing a surge in patients.

Today, up until 15,30:165 PM alone, we had 190 admissions; yesterday, 200; and the day before yesterday, over 200 were admitted. So, we're talking about an average of 118 patients per day, which is overwhelming the emergency room and short-term observation. For this reason, we've asked XNUMX not to bring any more patients to us unless they have conditions that require the Cardarelli specialist's intervention. Therefore, we can't say the emergency room is closed.

Management also emphasizes that "this is a challenging situation for emergency rooms across Italy. If there is a shortage of doctors, as is the case today, it will be difficult to expand the service, especially in Campania, which has fewer beds than other regions."
