Not all the documentation requested to support the European Arrest Warrant has been made available to the lawyers of Andrea Cozzolino and, therefore, it cannot be ruled out that tomorrow the Court of Appeal of Naples, called to decide on the request to hand over the MEP to the Belgian authorities, may grant a further postponement.

According to lawyers Dezio Ferraro and Federico Conte, representing the Italian MEP under investigation by the Belgian Federal Prosecutor's Office in the so-called "Qatargate" scandal, many of the documents received were in French, and only a small portion has been translated into Italian.

According to Brussels investigators, Cozzolino (in his capacity as a member of the European Parliament, president since 2019 of the Delegation for Relations with the Maghreb Countries and co-president of the Euro-Moroccan Joint Parliamentary Commission, and also as a member of the special "Pegasus" commission) allegedly unduly received money on behalf of the Moroccan government, presumably from a certain Atomun, to exercise his European parliamentary functions in order to promote Morocco's interests within the European Parliament.

Furthermore, according to the Belgian Federal Prosecutor's Office (which is charging the crimes of criminal organization, corruption, and money laundering), everything would have taken place in complicity and association with Pier Antonio Panzeri (former MEP), Francesco Giorgi (former assistant to Pier Antonio Panzeri), Eva Kaili (former vice-president of the European Parliament), Marc Tarabella (MEP), and Maria Arena (MEP and former chair of the parliamentary subcommittee on Human Rights).
