Last Wednesday the police officers of the Police Station Montecalvario, during the territorial control service, while passing through Piazza Montecalvario they were approached by a woman who said that, shortly before, a person riding a scooter, after hitting her in the chest, had stolen her purse and then disappeared.
On Saturday, the police, thanks to the images recorded by the city's video surveillance systems and those of a commercial establishment, reconstructed the phases of the robbery and identified the alleged perpetrator of the crime.
Furthermore, that same afternoon, the operators intervened in Vico delle Nocelle for a report of a robbery involving a woman who said that shortly before, she had been approached by a scooter with a man on it who, after forcefully pushing her against a wall, had stolen her purse and then walked away.
The latter, when filing the complaint, after having viewed a photo album depicting the effigies of some subjects, noticed a correspondence with the features of the perpetrator of the robbery.
Yesterday afternoon the officers tracked down the alleged robber, a 53-year-old Neapolitan with a criminal record, in a house on Via Sanità and placed him under police arrest for aggravated robbery and assault.
