The remaining two members of the criminal group on which the Carabinieri of the Viareggio (Lucca) mobile radio operations unit collected serious evidence of a crime in relation to the robbery of a precious watch committed in Forte dei Marmi (Lucca) in March 2022 to the detriment of a tourist originally from Prato have been arrested and taken to prison.

The two men, a 28 year old and a 26 year old, both already known to the police, residents of Naples, had made themselves untraceable and therefore had not been traced during the raid carried out in the Neapolitan neighbourhood of Fork by the military of the Arma taken in the very early morning of last Tuesday.

Investigations by the Viareggio Carabinieri, coordinated by the Lucca prosecutor's office, also revealed that—in addition to their trip to France in March 2022—three of those arrested also traveled to Marbella, Spain, where in May 2022, using the same modus operandi, they had planned to carry out the robbery of a prestigious watch from an Arab tourist who had just disembarked from his yacht. However, they failed to carry out the crime.

During the investigation, dubbed "Segnatempo," investigators explained in a statement, the Carabinieri also discovered the improper use of a cell phone by a man inmate at the Poggioreale prison. He frequently contacted one of the suspects and even recalled similar crimes he had previously committed with the suspect. This circumstance, reported to the Poggioreale prison police during the execution of precautionary measures, led to the discovery and seizure of a cell phone inside the inmate's cell.
