The Forcella "paranza" of Rolex robbers has been busted. Since dawn, an operation by the Viareggio Carabinieri has been underway in the province of Naples, with the assistance of members of the Naples Provincial Carabinieri Command.
Over 30 Carabinieri officers are executing a precautionary prison order against three Italian nationals, originally from Campania, for conspiracy to commit robbery.
The operation, coordinated by the Lucca Public Prosecutor's Office, identified all the individuals who robbed a tourist from Prato of his luxury watch last March in Forte dei Marmi, in the province of Lucca.
Of the three people arrested for the robbery that took place in Forte dei Marmi, in the province of Lucca, when a Rolex worth 40 thousand euros was stolen from a tourist, one is a resident of Frattamaggiore, in the province of Naples, the others are residents of Naples in the Forcella area.
The investigation conducted by the Viareggio military, coordinated by the Lucca Public Prosecutor's Office, has led to the arrestees being charged with both planning and carrying out the robbery. During the robbery, a Rolex Daytona watch worth approximately €40.000 was stolen from a man from the province of Prato while he was walking with his wife near the Forte dei Marmi pier, shortly before heading to lunch at a local restaurant.
One of the robbers, after ripping the watch from the man's wrist, causing him several abrasions, was chased on foot for a short distance by the victim. He was then punched in the face and lost his balance and fell to the ground. The robber then managed to escape by boarding a scooter driven by an accomplice.
The Carabinieri of Viareggio's investigations revealed that the criminal group consisted, in addition to the two perpetrators of the robbery, of other individuals who participated in the crime. Specifically, one of the arrested individuals supported the couple immediately after the robbery by using a "support" car that accompanied the scooter at various points in the journey, and which the individuals used to reach Forte dei Marmi from Naples and vice versa.
The other suspects, however, provided "logistical assistance" to their accomplices, respectively, by renting the car and finding and transporting the scooter used in the robbery to Versilia. In March, some members of the group were responsible for an attempted watch snatch in Cannes, France, from a wealthy Russian tourist.
During the morning, the blitz during which all the suspects were tracked down and taken to the Poggioreale prison.
