A tight and incessant investigative activity has allowed the Carabinieri of the station tonight Pozzuoli together with the military personnel of the local company's radiomobile section to execute an arrest warrant on suspicion of crime against 42-year-old Elia Bellafronte*, a man from Quarto already known to the police.
The arrested person is seriously suspected of the crime of aggravated robbery in conjunction with the detriment of two commercial establishments.
The investigation – already underway since last February 20, the day in which unknown individuals had robbed the Gold Bet in Quarto – had the decisive surge when the day before yesterday a man aboard a Fiat Panda had committed a robbery in the Road bar in Pozzuoli. The Carabinieri analyzed for hours the images of various video surveillance systems: that Panda had license plates that had been stolen that same morning in Via Rosini. The military did not lose heart and managed to reconstruct the path of the small car before it was “disguised” by stolen license plates, thus managing to obtain a name and surname to search for.
The turning point came when the Fiat Panda was tracked down in via Terracciano with the 42-year-old on board who was stopped and blocked. The searches were triggered – of the vehicle and at home – which allowed the Carabinieri to find and seize a blank-firing pistol with blank cartridges, the clothes presumably used to commit the robbery at the bar in via Domiziana and the stolen license plates from via Rosini.
During the searches, the military also found and seized the clothes presumably used during the robbery in the betting agency in Quarto on via Masullo committed by 2 men.
Investigations are also underway to identify the accomplice in the robbery at Gold Bet.
