Campania, one citizen in eight survives thanks to the Citizenship Income: Terra di Lavoro is a record

On the measure of the Basic income, meanwhile in all of Italy the recipients tend to decrease, an anomalous case in Campania and in the Province of Caserta, even more specifically, the numbers are increasingly substantial.

So much so that these data are worth noting: one resident in eight, and also his family unit, survives thanks to this measure.

We are talking about an average of around 600 euros per month which led to disbursements of 2022 million euros in aid in December 28, distributed in 46 thousand families, with 108 thousand people who benefited directly or indirectly.

Of these, excluding a small portion in which the family unit is composed of one or more members over 67 years of age and who receive a pension, almost 104 thousand people are considered "employable", who even if they could work have preferred to collect the citizen's income.

And it is precisely in Terra di Lavoro that one inhabitant in eight, equal to 12% of the population, lives thanks to this measure. Only the provinces of Naples (on average 634 euros per month) and Palermo are worse off, reporting one inhabitant in seven, therefore 14% of the population. Caserta (606 euros of monthly average) instead shares the podium with Catania, immediately after are Cosenza and Bari.

To give an idea of ​​the proportions, in our province of Caserta alone there are the same number of beneficiaries as the entire Piedmont Region, double that of the entire Veneto, almost double that of Emilia Romagna. To complete the Campania Region, Salerno (monthly average 556 euros) has one beneficiary for every 15 inhabitants, in Benevento (monthly average 547 euros) one for every 17 residents, in Avellino one for every 18 (with a monthly average of 546 euros).

The INPS Observatory on Citizenship Income and Pension observes that in 2022 there was a nationwide decline in households receiving at least one month of Citizenship Income or Pension: 1,7 million families for a total of 3,7 million while in 2021 there were 1,8 million households and just under 4 million people involved.

In the last year, the requesting households went from 41.913 to 52.052, while in the month of December alone, the beneficiary households rose from 45.726 to 46.095. At the regional level, the requesting households in 2022 rose from 227.186 to 288.063, while the recipients in December were 259.254 against 257.247 in the previous month.
