The Guardia di Finanza of the Provincial Command of Salerno, also in view of the upcoming celebrations of Valentine's Day and Carnival, has intensified checks at commercial establishments in the province: in the crosshairs, the sale of unsafe and potentially dangerous products for health.
And in the context of the aforementioned interventions, the Guardia di Finanza of Sala Consilina, after targeted inspections, identified a commercial establishment in Vallo di Diano that, just as the “Festa degli Innamorati” was approaching, had already set up a large part of the shop with numerous themed accessories and gadgets.
From a more careful examination of the goods, numerous items were found not to comply with the provisions of the Consumer Code, as they lacked the minimum identifying information that, by law, must be present on the packages or on the respective labels, in a visible, legible manner and in Italian, such as for example the data relating to the manufacturer/importer, the country of origin and the nature of the materials used for their production.
It is always important to remember that the use of such wording guarantees the final consumer awareness of the quality of the product he is about to purchase and, above all, its use in complete safety.
The irregular products, with an estimated value of over 15.000 euros, were subjected to administrative seizure, while the owner of the business, who now risks a fine ranging from a minimum of 516 euros to a maximum of over 25.000 euros, was reported to the competent Chamber of Commerce.
