This is the title of the initiative launched by the Neapolitan State Archives to celebrate Valentine's Day. Sentimental education and love are at the heart of a rich program that intertwines documentary testimonies, a selection of about forty historical and contemporary love letters from ordinary people and celebrities, including those drawn from criminal trial records preserved in the Archives (from that of Ferdinand of Bourbon to his wife Maria Carolina to letters from migrants and soldiers from the front), period photographs, and readings by actors (including Nunzia Schiano, Lucio Allocca, Rosanna De Bonis, Ernesto Lama, Angela Rosa D'Auria, and Lucia Ronca).
“The documents that are kept in the State Archives tell stories that are very close to the people – says Candida Carrino, director of the Archive – fascinating micro-stories that in the context of our macro-history have a very powerful identity, cultural and social value because they are linked to the feelings of humanity".
An important opportunity for communication and exchange with the new generations to whom, according to the director, “it is important to try to teach that it is not the means of expression that is important, but rather the ability to manage and express one's emotions and feelings”. A fundamental occasion also for Nunzia Schiano, a well-known Neapolitan actress and for the occasion, an exceptional reader.
“Emotional education is fundamental - He says - also because today, in some ways, it seems like we've gone backwards. Love is often violent and disrespectful in an era that instead, and fortunately, provides for greater respect for women".
