The red-light houses were not fixed, but were opened, managed and closed in various locations, also following the flow of requests, but always advertised on the web as the girls who from time to time were sent by the madams to 'work'.
This is the backdrop to an investigation by the Benevento prosecutor's office, which led to a precautionary measure issued by the Sannio investigating judge and executed by the Carabinieri between Naples and Telese Terme against six suspects, two of whom are currently in prison and four under house arrest.
The recipients of the measure are two sisters of Chinese nationality residing in Naples, a couple residing in the Telesina Valley and two other Asian people, also residing in the Neapolitan capital.
They are charged with various crimes, ranging from criminal conspiracy for the purpose of exploiting prostitution, cultivation of marijuana-type narcotics, theft, receiving stolen goods, impersonation, aiding and abetting illegal residence in Italy, aggravated fraud for the purpose of obtaining public funds, and even the unlawful receipt of basic income.
The investigation began in September 2020 and concluded in May of a year later, and also made use of wiretaps, environmental surveillance, and the acquisition of images from video surveillance systems.
The two sisters' prostitution business was advertised on sex-related websites. They decided where to set up brothels, organized the transportation of the prostituted women, and withheld their documents.
A call center of sorts was located in the Vasto neighborhood of Naples, and the apartments for the "meetings" were scattered throughout the provinces of Benevento, Avellino, Salerno, Sassari, and Cosenza. Clients were directed to the nearest offices, agreeing on the type and cost of the service over the phone. During the investigation, a sort of ledger was seized, which showed profits for the organization, over relatively short periods, amounting to several hundred thousand euros.
The suspects also profited from marijuana cultivation, so much so that in February 2021 an industrial plant was identified in Puglianello (Bn) where 1.350 growing plants and 54 kilograms of already dried substance were seized.
During the searches carried out in Naples during the notification of the precautionary measures, a further large quantity of narcotic substances was seized from one of the two women.
Eight other Italian nationals are implicated in the case. They are under investigation at large for various reasons, including criminal conspiracy, given that they provided logistical support to the organization, and aiding and abetting. Further searches were also carried out on them.
