“Continuous thefts in the multi-storey car park on Via Torre, accompanied by acts of vandalism and finally a total state of abandonment in which the ancient village of Somma Vesuviana”.

An “unsustainable” situation, according to the citizens’ committee, which points out that “it has been going on like this for two years now, since the municipal car park was stopped being controlled by traffic wardens and left dirty and often without lighting.

But even the historic center is not in better conditions: for years now the municipal administration has promised the Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) to relaunch the area chosen by some young entrepreneurs to open entertainment venues that are also enjoying success especially among young people".

“We can’t go on like this,” explain the residents who are forming a committee, “We met to study the initiatives to undertake, the situation is unsustainable. Practically every day thieves enter the parking lot, stealing tires, objects from cars, mirrors, luggage racks, in some cases they have limited themselves to only creating expensive damage by breaking windows and rear windows and scratching the bodywork.

Enough, we ask for a timely intervention by the Municipality that must protect the citizens of Casamale, we are not second-class submerged. For years they have also promised us the ZTL for greater control and they have not been able to implement that either.

There are people who speed with cars through the alleys risking hitting pedestrians and they shout and party at any hour. We want to stay and live in the village, but we ask for safety and respect”.

Citizens who would like to join the Casamale committee, it is written in a note, "can send a message to the following WhatsApp number 08119463480".
