“ Cremonese ? We haven't forgotten the elimination from the Italian Cup.
We know their strength, it will be a crucial match for us." Luciano Spalletti thus presents the match that his Napoli will play against the Grigiorossi, bottom of the Serie A table , scheduled for tomorrow at 20,45 pm at the Maradona stadium.
“I'm not thinking about the Champions League, the game against Cremonese is fundamental”
"Thinking about the Champions League ? No, I have too many reasons to focus on tomorrow's match without wasting attention or thoughts that will be useful for tomorrow's match, " Spalletti said. " Because we haven't forgotten that Cremonese eliminated us from the Coppa Italia, and we were able to see all the qualities this team has."
"We know how strong Cremonese are—us, Inter, Juve, and Milan, " he continued. " We won by a large margin, but the second goal came at the very end.
Cremonese never loses the game, it is difficult to give them the knockout blow, they know how to defend and restart the ball on the ground or with a long game".
“It's a fundamental match for us, as we also said with Spezia, also for self-esteem, confidence, all the attention is on Cremonese. And I hope that the fans can also experience this moment and I feel that they are waiting for this match so they have the right attitude.
We need their support.”
“Elimination from the Cup? Tomorrow we will present them with the bill”
Maradona? “The crowd helps us give something extra and makes the show even more enjoyable, there's more enthusiasm in the locker room.
When Napoli fans are well it fills me with joy and hearing that they are organizing for this match makes me happy. However, the disappointment of not having the Curva in the away match against Sassuolo increases”.
“What remains of the Italian Cup match?
We were disappointed, in some ways it was needed to show how strong Gaetano , Zerbin , Zedadka who is a strong footballer, Bereszynski are . It was needed to give space to some, we have a squad that can afford an extra game when everyone is doing well like they are now".
“Even the journey, the retreat, the suitcase becomes an extra mental effort.
But if I had had the chance, it could have been useful to us, but instead it's no longer there and we're pissed off. Tomorrow we'll have to put this on the bill to present to him ," he added.
"Future?
Contract is a detail. I have only one regret…”
“My contract?
It's a tiny detail within a big occasion, then if we want to create problems for ourselves then we'll talk about my contract, his, the players'. These are discussions to create problems" , he adds regarding his future.
Regarding the standings , Spalletti said: “I wouldn't have expected to have such a lead in the league after the first half of the season and to have played at this level of quality, both in the Champions League and in the league. And I have no regrets whatsoever.”
“The only regret is having people like Simeone and Raspadori who deserve space?
Yes, and for me Gaetano will become one of the greatest midfielders around, but there are others and other considerations to make" , he concludes.
