Debut on February 25th at the Teatro Instabile in Naples.

On February 25th (8:30 pm, with a repeat performance on Sunday the 26th), the Teatro Instabile in Naples will host the debut of Tato Russo's "The Room of Lost Feelings," based on Luigi Pirandello's novel. Directed by Mario Brancaccio, who also stars on stage with Simona Esposito and Fortuna Liguori, the production is presented and promoted by TTR Il Teatro di Tato Russo. The production features sets by Peppe Zarbo, costumes by Anna Giordano, and lighting by Francesco Zampa.

"Pirandello's thought is based on the relationship between Life, mobile, fluid, natural, unstoppable, and Form, as a set of conditionings and agreements that society and we ourselves impose on ourselves, forcing us into an illusory and painful existence. - we read in a note from the company - The extraordinary production of the Agrigento native therefore reflects what is happening to contemporary man, increasingly reluctant to show himself for what he really is, hardly honest and clear in his relationships with others and with himself".

In "The Room of Lost Feelings," Tato Russo, an undisputed multifaceted talent on the Italian dramatic scene, explores how personal growth (persona = mask) creates a false identity, within which we drift and lose ourselves, living parallel lives due to our inability to understand ourselves and others. In the first act of the production, a woman dreams—or perhaps not—that her husband has discovered her affair with an ex-boyfriend who has returned rich from the East. Here, the theme of lost love is approached psychologically to the point of obsession. But the dream, or perhaps not, may prove tragic only in appearance. The second act explores how stubborn self-realization can transform lives and feelings.

The protagonist travels across Italy, from Sicily to Lombardy, to find his fiancée. Arriving in the north, he discovers another world, different people, different customs. Everything is so different from the world he had imagined, even Aunt Marta and her fiancée are no longer the same.

The themes addressed in both parts, in this new production, take on the character of paradox and obsession. The characters, vulnerable and constantly displaying attitudes bordering on hilarity and laughter, thus reveal the obvious and surprising disguise they use to survive.
