The beach in Bacoli, on the Phlegraean Coast, made famous by the actor's kiss with Giuliana De Sio in "Sorry for the Delay," will be dedicated to Massimo Troisi.
Mayor Josi Gerardo Della Ragione announced the news in a Facebook post. "A beach for Troisi! We have decided to name Miliscola beach in memory of Massimo Troisi, a Neapolitan pride around the world," the mayor wrote.
He explains: "Here, 40 years ago, he filmed the unforgettable scene from 'Sorry for the Delay.' The kissing scene, with Giuliana De Sio. With the Miseno promontory in the background. We'll do it this year, in the spring. And we're announcing it today, on the day of the celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the actor and director's birth.
It will be a great celebration, in one of the most iconic places in the Phlegraean Fields. It is a necessary, dutiful tribute. For everlasting memory.
