This morning, in Naples, the Carabinieri of the Sorrento Company arrested two local people, already known to the Police, in execution of an order applying the precautionary measure of house arrest, with the control instrument of the electronic bracelet, issued by the GIP of the Court of Torre Annunziata, at the request of this Public Prosecutor's Office.
The investigation activity, carried out by the military of the Carabinieri Station of Sorrento and coordinated by this Public Prosecutor's Office, has allowed the collection of serious evidence of guilt against the two defendants in relation to the commission, in collaboration with each other and with other persons who are currently unidentified, of a fraud aggravated by the advanced age of the victim as well as by the significant gravity of the financial damage caused to her.

According to the investigative reconstruction, on April 13, 2022, today's arrested people allegedly defrauded an 87-year-old woman from Sant'Agnello, obtaining the sum of 920 euros in cash and numerous gold jewels.
THEelderly woman she had been contacted by telephone first by a person who pretended to be her nephew, who had asked her to prepare a sum of money necessary for the purchase of a computer, subsequently by a so-called courier who had reached her at her home and collected the money and the aforementioned objects with the help of an accomplice who was waiting for him in a car parked near the victim's home.
The investigation, carried out by analyzing images from video surveillance systems in the area and other direct and indirect investigation activities, has allowed us to arrive, with a high probability, at the identification of the perpetrators of the crime in the people arrested today, who, on the date of the fraud, were in the vicinity of the places where the fraud was committed, and one of whom, having had direct contact with the victim of the crime at her home, was recognized by the latter through photographic identification.
