Monica Zappullo, CEO of GT Officine del Computer, has succeeded in establishing herself in a predominantly male sector, that of IT, gaining the trust of the top players in the sector with a demanding daily work.
The Covid-19 pandemic blocks all sectors and for Monica comes the closure of her business in Portici but she is determined not to give up and today she faces a new challenge with strength and determination.
"With the advice and support of Artigiancassa, today I open my GT Officine del Computer Cash and Carry in Casalnuovo – says Monica Zappullo –. A territory that is not simple, but which, due to the concentration of technology companies, can be considered the Silicon Valley of Campania. The birth of this reality means a lot and not only the complicated affirmation of a woman in this sector, but also the possibility of creating jobs for young people who, unfortunately, increasingly leave their hometowns in search of employment”.
A company that finds its strengths in the dialogue with the giants of technology and in the formation of a team, composed of about 10 units, that comes into contact with the user going well beyond the moment of choosing the technological product, with an accurate assistance service. An expanding team with the difficulty, however, of finding resources.
“We have published ads on job sites, offering employment to various professional profiles – continues Monica –. Only warehouse workers' resumes arrived and we hired. The position of commercial agents is still open."
But Monica Zappullo's foresight does not stop with the birth of her business and also takes on social implications. “With my team, we are working on a future project involving the islands – continues Monica –. On the islands, technological products have very high prices due to transport costs. The project is to open a dialogue that will lead to an agreement with the main transport companies and to a reduction in the cost to the seller, which will obviously have a positive impact on the end user".
