Villa Literno, municipal employee sentenced to almost 9 years for attempted murder of neighbor

Gaetano Tavoletta, the employee of the Municipality of Villa Literno who fired shots at a neighbor last October, was sentenced to 8 years and 8 months in prison in a trial held using the abbreviated procedure.

The 52-year-old was tried for attempted murder for taking one of the rifles he had in his home and shooting at a neighbor in an attempt to kill him.

Tavoletta is a former Socially Useful Worker, a municipal employee in the “maintenance” sector, suspended after the episode he is accused of.

At the end of October, in via San Sossio, where the 52-year-old has land bordering the victim, GC, he hit his neighbor on the right shoulder after an argument over trivial matters. The victim then went independently to the Pineta Grande clinic in Castel Volturno, where he was discharged with a 7-day prognosis.

Following a house search, the Carabinieri found in Tavoletta's home a crossbow, three rifles, 187 1, 2 and 14 calibre cartridges and several darts.
