He tried to escape by pushing the elderly man who found him stealing his scooter in the garage, but a 36-year-old man from Naples was arrested that same Tuesday afternoon in a garage near the Santa Maria Novella station.
The victim, a 70-year-old man, was unharmed. According to a reconstruction, the pensioner had gone down to his garage and surprised a stranger who was pushing his scooter away, so he called 112 Nue.
The attacker allegedly pushed the seventy-year-old man to escape, but once outside the garage, he hid behind a car. However, he was spotted and chased by the victim, and then arrested by patrol officers who promptly arrived on the scene.
The Neapolitan, already known to law enforcement, was arrested on charges of attempted robbery.
