Four fans of Scafatese , a football club from Scafati that plays in the Campania Eccellenza championship, group B , have been placed under house arrest as they are believed to be responsible for the attack on San Marzano Calcio fans that took place on Sunday in Sarno ( Salerno ) at the Squitieri stadium.

According to the reconstruction of the investigations coordinated by the Nocera Inferiore Public Prosecutor's Office , during the influx phases to the stadium, a group of 15 Scafatese ultras , not following the pre-established route for safe arrival at the away section of the stadium, reached the entrance to the sector dedicated to San Marzano supporters.
Having reached the entrance, with their faces covered and armed with clubs , they got out of their vehicles and threw two firecrackers and two smoke bombs at the local fans, causing injuries to three people, two of whom were treated on the pitch and one in the emergency room where she was deemed curable with a prognosis of 10 days.

The investigations aimed at identifying the perpetrators of the attack were conducted by the agents of the Digos of Salerno and the Sarno Police Station , coordinated by the Nocera Prosecutor's Office.
Analysis of images recorded by video surveillance systems and footage from the Provincial Forensic Police Office allowed the identification and arrest of the four citizens of Scafati : a 24-year-old with a criminal record, a 31-year-old with a criminal record, another 31-year-old already subject to a Daspo order that expired in 2018, and a 32-year-old with a criminal record.
The four fans were placed under house arrest pending the validation hearing and the administrative procedure aimed at issuing bans by the Salerno police chief was started against them.
