During an extraordinary search for cell phones, two officers on duty at the Avellino prison were injured after being attacked by an inmate.
He reports it Tiziana Guacci, regional secretary of Sappe. During the search that involved sections and cells, twenty cell phones that were in the possession of the detainees were discovered and seized.

During the operation, an inmate hit an officer in the face with the handle of a broom and injured another by throwing a tube of toothpaste at him.
"We renew our request to the Department of Penitentiary Administration -declares Tiziana Guacci, who expresses applause and solidarity to the agents- to prepare urgent concrete interventions, starting with the provision of adequate technological equipment to the departments in service to combat the use of cell phones and other devices by inmates in Italian penitentiaries."
