A wolf of approximately two years old was found yesterday by Anas Campania staff , engaged in the usual inspection activities of bridges and viaducts.
The wounded animal was wandering in the area below the “Ofanto I” bridge on the state road 7 “Appia” Ofantina in Lioni, in the Avellino area, near the river of the same name.
Engineer Matteo Armenante of Anas immediately alerted the competent authorities, who quickly intervened on site together with the police and Anas personnel operating in the area: the supervisor Costantino Incontrada and the specialized operator Carmine Gargano.
The men of the Veterinary Service then proceeded to catch the animal and rescue it. The wolf is now in a safe place and has been given the care it needed, having suffered fractures to its lower limbs.
