A thriving drug dealing ring with appointments set up via WhatsApp and Telegram.
In the early hours of today, following investigations coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Benevento, in various locations in the province of Avellino and in Cerignola, in the province of Foggia, soldiers from the Mirabella Eclano Carabinieri Company supported by those from the Sarno Dog Unit have executed 10 personal precautionary measures.
Of these 6 orders of precautionary custody under house arrest and 4 precautionary measures of the obligation to reside in the municipality of residence - issued by the GIP at the Court of Benevento, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, against an equal number of suspects, on various counts, for dealing in "narcotic substances" and "aggravated theft" in competition.
The investigation, launched in January 2021 by the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Mirabella Eclano Company and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Benevento, has allowed the acquisition of serious evidence in relation to the dealing of narcotics, in particular cocaine, heroin, crack, hashish, marijuana, and methadone of illicit origin, which had its epicenter in the municipality of Fontanarossa, in the Avellino area.
The suspects agreed to purchases on WhatsApp and Telegram. Furthermore, some suspects allegedly commissioned a theft of work materials in San Sossio Baronia, also in the province of Avellino, in April 2021. The materials, recovered, were returned to their rightful owner. During the investigation, several batches of drugs were seized.
