The Province of Benevento appears before the President of the Republic against Luminosa Energia srl.
The company has filed an extraordinary appeal with the Head of State against a decision by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security regarding the project for a combined cycle thermoelectric power plant with a capacity of approximately 385 MW to be built at the Asi Consortium in Ponte Valentino di Benevento.
Nino Lombardi, President of the Province, decided. This is yet another chapter in a story that began over 21 years ago and that had only experienced another stage last December with the ruling of the TAR of Lazio that had recognized the reasons of the Province and the ASI Consortium declaring inadmissible the appeal presented by the same Società Luminosa Energia srl against the cancellation of the assignment of land near Ponte Valentino in the capital to build this power plant.
This time the Company has decided to take legal action before the Head of State against a decision taken by the Ministry of the Environment unfavorable to the Company itself. "The Province of Benevento - we read in a note - will continue to firmly oppose in every venue against a settlement that has always been opposed by local institutions".
