A proposed change to the Citizen's Income (CBI) is forthcoming, as provided for in the latest budget law. This will introduce a maximum subsidy of around €500 for a more limited group of potential beneficiaries.
The name is also changing, from Rdc to Mia, or Active Inclusion Measure. Work has been underway for weeks on a text, currently only a draft, which is reportedly under discussion among the majority parties. The Ministry of Labor may present the measure to the Council of Ministers in the coming weeks, followed by a discussion in Parliament to consider possible amendments.
The measure would provide a check of up to 500 euros for families composed of people considered unemployable, with the possibility of a bonus of another 375 euros for this category. The subsidy could also be due to those with very low incomes from work, around 3 thousand euros per year.
The duration of the support should be reduced compared to the current Income, with a decreasing mechanism. The criteria for accessing the accompanying measure would also be more stringent. The government's intention is to pass a measure that, once fully implemented, would lead to annual savings of between €2 and €3 billion, which could be invested elsewhere in active labor market policies.

The text would also include the involvement of private employment agencies, the presence of greater controls to avoid the scams that have occurred in recent years in the use of the Rdc.
The new measure, called MIA (Measure for Active Inclusion), will be launched in August. The ISEE ceiling for eligibility for the subsidy is also expected to be tightened, dropping to €7.200 from the current €9.360.
Citizenship income, Tridico (Inps): with reform little changes for the unemployable
With the reform of the Citizen's Income "Little changes for the unemployable. Work needed to be done on active policies, and it seems to me that the government is going in the right direction on this; it seems to me that there is very strong action."
INPS President Pasquale Tridico said this on Radio24's "24 Mattino." "The minimum income is provided for by the European Union, Italy will also have to deal with European directives. If those who lose their jobs lose their income, it seems like a major problem to me.", he added.
