Caserta, 200 kg of copper stolen from Baia Domizia purifier: arrested

The Carabinieri of the Baia Domizia Station, late yesterday evening, during a territorial control operation, arrested in Cellole a twenty-seven year old and a twenty-two year old, both Romanian, believed to be responsible for aggravated theft in competition and resisting a public official.

The two, we read in a note from the Carabinieri, "were intercepted by the military while they were speeding along the Domitian state road, in the municipality of Cellole, aboard the car owned by one of the two.

The driver, when asked to pull over and stop, suddenly accelerated, triggering a chase that ended a few kilometers further on with the arrest of the fugitives, which also occurred thanks to the support of the patrol of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of the Sessa Aurunca Company in transit on that road artery”.

The subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery, “in the possession of the arrested”, of various burglary tools and 200 kg of copper, which were found to have been “removed shortly before in Baia Domizia at the local municipal sewage treatment plant”. The stolen goods were seized while the two twenty-year-olds were held in the Carabinieri’s security cells at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
