Castellammare di Stabia. Pact with the D'Alessandro and Cesarano clans and reinvestment of illicit proceeds: all the entrepreneurs of the Cesarano funeral home srl.
This is what was established today by the judges of the court of Torre Annunziata in the trial against the six high profile defendants who ended up under investigation in an investigation by the DDA of Napoli which four years after the first warning signs and the notification of the personal precautionary order was resolved with a full acquittal for all the entrepreneurs involved.
On trial with very serious charges were Alfonso Cesarano 64 years old, defined as the king of funeral homes in the province of Naples and Salerno cousins Saturno and Alfonso Cesarano 65 years old, brother Giulio 62 years old, the nephew Catello, 34 years old, and Michele Cioffi, 48 years.
This morning the judges of Oplonti – president Francesco Todisco, on the side Emanuela Cozzicorto e Carmela DeSimone, they had to take note – as underlined in the defense speeches of the lawyers – of the groundlessness of the accusations.
Acquittal because 'the fact does not exist' for the charges relating to the fictitious registration of the company shares to circumvent the patrimonial measures and the seizure of assets ordered by the judiciary during the investigations.
The judges, together with the acquittal sentence, ordered the release of company shares of the Cesarano srl Funeral Company and of the entire assets seized for a value of approximately seven million euros.
All the suspects had suffered heavy judicial repercussions during the investigations, in particular Alfonso Cesarano, born in 58, believed to be the head of the family business and also the one who, with his actions, would have reinvested money of illicit origin, thus benefiting the clans. Alfonso Cesarano, in fact, had ended up in prison at the request of the Dda.
Four years after the beginning of the investigation and after a very complex trial, today the sentence was issued first instance ruling. During the trial, the prosecution was represented by the prosecutor of the DDA Giuseppe Cimmarota. The defense lawyers of the defendants contested the serious hypotheses of the crime: Claudio Botti, Paolo Trofino, Gennaro Somma, Marco longobardi, Bruno La Rosa, Agostino Allegro and the lawyer Marrandino.
