Breakthrough in the investigation into the wounding of an innocent girl that occurred last May in Piazza Giovanni XXIII-
In fact, this morning, personnel from the Investigative Team of the PS police station of Castellammare di Stabia, in execution of a personal precautionary order applying the coercive measure of house arrest, issued by the Judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Torre Annunziata at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, proceeded with the arrest of a young man no criminal record, aged 22, seriously suspected of the crimes of illegal possession and carrying of a pistol.
The investigations, coordinated by this Public Prosecutor's Office and carried out by the Investigative Team of the Police Station of Castellammare di Stabia, originated from the wounding, by gunshots, of a girl who was standing in the street, while waiting for her boyfriend, in Piazza Giovanni XXIII in Castellammare di Stabia on the evening of May 27, 2022.
During the investigations, it was discovered that the girl had been an innocent victim of a shooting, injured by chance, simply by being at the scene of the events.

In fact, it was ascertained that the person believed to be responsible for the shooting, most likely for reasons for jealousy, determined by an alleged betrayal of him by his girlfriend, had armed himself with a gun and had set out in search of his rival in love.

During his search, he had met a friend of his rival, with whom he had had an argument due to the latter's refusal to reveal the rival's whereabouts, at the end of which the perpetrator of the shooting had several gunshots fired fired at the same person, which, in addition to hitting the latter, grazing him on the foot, had also hit a girl, not involved in the incident, causing her to fracture her tibia, which was judged to heal in 30 days.
Having regard to the extreme, unheard of, seriousness of the conduct carried out by the author of the shooting, who had not hesitated to explode multiple gunshots, in a crowded square, against the friend of his rival in love, only because the latter had refused to tell him where the intended victim was.
Thus accepting the risk of hitting innocent passers-by, as actually happened, this Office had requested the application of the most serious coercive measure of the precautionary custody in prison.
The judge, while sharing the existence of the seriousness of the circumstantial evidence, considered the least serious measure of the arrest.

he is also charged with aggravated personal injury and was placed under house arrest at his home.
