The Torre Annunziata Financial Police Group has executed a precautionary seizure order for the equivalent of €88.697,41, issued by the Preliminary Investigations Judge of the Torre Annunziata Court, at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office, against five Romanian nationals under investigation for the crime of fraud in the disbursement of public funds.

The recipients of the provision, all residents of the Municipality of Castellammare di Stabia, allegedly unduly received the benefit of the Citizenship Income between the month of January 2020 and the month of October 2021 for a total amount equal to the amount indicated above.

In particular, according to what was reconstructed by INPS Stabia, the suspects allegedly declared, contrary to the truth, that they had been resident in Italy for at least ten years. Two of the suspects also allegedly falsely attested that they had been continuously resident in Italy for the last two years, considered at the time of submitting the application, and for the entire duration of the benefit.

In light of the findings, the ablative measure was requested and issued against the aforementioned individuals for the amount unduly received, constituting the profit of the crime.

During the execution of the royal precautionary measure, still in progress and supervised by the Castellammare di Stabia Company of the Guardia di Finanza, 21.300,00 euros were seized, of which 8.000 in cash and 13.300 in vehicles.

Further financial resources are being quantified on the bank accounts found to be attributable to the suspects.
