Naples city councilor Luigi Musto, president of the youth and labor policy commission, intervenes in the controversy and debate that began yesterday evening over the behavior of Lazio fans at the stadium Maradona.

"What I witnessed yesterday at the Maradona Stadium, beyond the sporting result, has once again left me astonished. In these hours many are once again asking me to spend myself to give voice to what we have been seeing for a long time in the Fuorigrotta facility and which is taking on grotesque contours", said Musto.

And then he added: “How is it possible that the Police Headquarters first and foremost and the control bodies prohibit fans Neapolitans to bring in flags, megaphones, water bottles and anything else that could jeopardize the safety of those present, assuming that all of this is the case, and instead we witness, once again in a helpless manner, the attitude of a visiting fan group that brings in banners, smoke bombs and even firecrackers that cause what then yesterday also led to the injury of a Neapolitan fan. Is it possible that double standards are used?”.

And yet: “And the purely sporting aspect, which as a fan before being an institution I feel I should underline and which should be one of joy, colour and passion, isn’t it instead “mortified” by such stringent and unequal rules?

I will send an official note to the right people to seek a discussion, as always frank, constructive and fair, so that someone can explain to me/us what is happening to Maradona.
This doesn't work, we have the right to have answers that guarantee safety but also fun.

Naples city, its young people and its enormous vitality in this historical moment, deserve other strategies. They deserve to be considered the enormous amount of tourism that all this is generating, in addition to the flow already present in recent years, with Korean and Georgian flags and the many followers who frequent the stands and who generate other induced.

We must all row in the same direction in the sole and greatest interest of our Naples."
