The municipal administration of Naples , following the massacres of the last few months in which Giuseppe Iazzetta , Elvira Zibra and Alessandra Navarra lost their lives due to hit- and -run drivers , has started a project for the creation of speed bumps.

Ten "innovative" pedestrian crossings will be installed within a month, or a month and a half at most, in red-marked zones . The decision was made by the road safety observatory, which meets periodically at the prefecture, in the presence of law enforcement officials and the municipal administration.
The project was developed by the traffic police and presented along with accident case studies : high- risk roads and number of accidents . Once the investigation is complete, Palazzo San Giacomo will be responsible for budgeting and placing orders for the speed bumps.
Roads considered by the road safety observatory
The streets of Naples considered by the observatory are via Francesco Caracciolo at the height of the hydrofoils, at the height of via Galiani and at the height of the aquarium ; and in piazza Sannazaro , at the level of the traffic-lighted pedestrian crossing.
"We've been calling for speed bumps to be installed for some time. Now they need to be installed immediately, but they also need to be installed on other high-risk roads in the city where a high number of accidents have been recorded ," said Francesco Emilio Borrelli, MP for the Green-Left alliance, and Gianni Simioli, host of La Radiazza.
