Following the enormous success of his latest tour, which saw him headline a series of sold-out concerts this fall in Italy, legendary Genesis guitarist Steve Hackett returns by popular demand with the show “Genesis Revisited – Foxtrot at Fifty + Hackett Highlights”.
Hackett will be back in Italy this summer for six new dates. These are the cities and dates: July 6 Brescia (Arena Campo Marte); July 7 Pistoia (Piazza Duomo); July 8 Ostia Antica, Rome (Roman Theater); July 10 Caserta (Belvedere di San Leucio); July 12 Ferrara (Piazza Trento Trieste); July 13 Palmanova, Udine (Piazza Grande). Tickets are on pre-sale at Ticketone. All shows are organized and produced by Musical Box 2.0 Promotion, Vincenzo Berti and Gianluca Bonanno for Ventidieci and Solo Agency Limited.
“Genesis Revisited – Foxtrot at Fifty + Hackett Highlights” is a 50th anniversary tour of the magnificent 1972 album Foxtrot, which put Genesis at the centre of British rock. Hackett joined Genesis in 1971, and made his debut on Nursery Cryme. The album was more successful in Europe than in Britain. After extensive touring, buoyed by the response from the public, Genesis were encouraged to experiment with longer compositions and developed their ability to introduce strong narratives. This, in turn, gave Peter Gabriel more opportunity to indulge in theatricality, thus raising the band’s profile.
“I think Foxtrot was a magnificent achievement for Genesis,” said Steve Hackett. “I don’t think there’s a single weak track on the album, they all have their strengths and I’m really looking forward to playing the whole album live.”
Steve Hackett is accompanied on stage by exceptional musicians: Roger King (Gary Moore, The Mute Gods) on keyboards; Craig Blundell (Steven Wilson) on drums, percussion and vocals; Rob Townsend (Bill Bruford) on sax, flute and percussion; Jonas Reingold (The Flower Kings) on bass and guitar; and Nad Sylvan (Agents of Mercy) on vocals.
