The Maddaloni Civic Museum Institution celebrates the architect Vanvitelli 250 years after his death. The municipal administration, led by Mayor Andrea De Filippo and Councilor for Culture Caterina Ventrone, presents the exhibition “Luigi Vanvitelli 1773-2023 – For the 250 years since his death”, organized and promoted by the Maddaloni Civic Museum Institution, led by the scientific director Dr. Maria Rosaria Rienzo. It is a program of conferences, exhibitions, and insights that will enliven the local cultural context until the month of July and which aims to tell the story of Vanvitelli's genius by focusing on his works in the Maddalonese context.

The opening event is on Saturday 11 March at 17:00 pm at the museum in via N. Bixio. The event will be inaugurated with a conference featuring speakers such as architects Domenico Iovane (Federico II University) and Rosina Iaderosa (Lugi Vanvitelli University, with a speech entitled “The complex and organised system of the Ponti della Valle”, and archaeologist Ernesto Izzo with “Vanvitelli architecture in postcards”; the moderator will be Dr. Maria Rosaria Rienzo.

At the end of the conference, the exhibition “The Royal Palace of Caserta and the Carolino Aqueduct – Lithographs, Prints, Coins, Medals, Stamps, Postage Stamps from the 18th to the 19th Century” will be inaugurated. The event was conceived and organized in collaboration with the University of Naples “Federico II”, the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, the State High School “Don Gnocchi” of Maddaloni.
