In Ischia, the Carabinieri of the local company together with the personnel of the ASL Napoli 2 Nord carried out a wide-ranging service aimed at checking cars and vans used for transporting food.
The military waited for the vehicles that were disembarking at the port of Ischia to then check them. During the operations, two employees of a distribution company from San Giuseppe Vesuviano were fined for violating health and hygiene regulations.
In the Fiat Ducato with the 2 on board, the Carabinieri and the ASL doctors found 15 kilos of cured meats without the required traceability. The goods were destined for commercial establishments on the island and were packed in a van that was not equipped with a temperature-controlled refrigeration system.
The vehicle also had several inefficiencies that certainly did not make it safe to drive. Fines were also imposed on the highway code for the broken rear brake lights and rear bumper, for the non-functioning side and rear door lock and for the broken handbrake.
