Nannarella 5.0 celebrates 50 years since the death of Anna Magnani

For International Women's Day, the Ricciardi Theater celebrates the fiftieth anniversary of Anna Magnani's death with the show Nannarella 5.0. The play - which will be held on Wednesday, March 8 at 20.30:XNUMX p.m. - was born from an idea by Raffaella Ambrosino of which she is the main interpreter, with Patrizio Rispo, directed by Stefano Sannino and music by maestro Carlo Berton on the piano. As an opera singer and director of the Maria Malibran International Award, Raffaella Ambrosino favors the Neapolitan eighteenth-century theater with the desire to bring back to life women who have made the history of the show.

Nannarella 5.0 is a celebratory journey into the story of an actress who was able to exalt every nuance of Neapolitanness consecrated, in her own way, to the Roman and Romanesque eternity that belonged to her.

"This show takes up Magnani's life by making cinema, music and theatre dialogue with each other. – says Ambrosino – a praise to the feelings of drama and comedy interpreted impeccably by a timeless diva2.

The staging is a journey through the songs loved by Magnani and the posthumous poetics dedicated to her.

“It is always difficult to put together a show in memory of a deceased artist when you are still a baby. – says the recorder- but as often happens, you only need to watch one archive film to then document yourself and see everything about these giants of cinema and entertainment. For years I have searched, in every nook and cranny of the web and, even before that, in video stores, for everything concerning the life and works of Anna Magnani. In this show I intended to acquire her deep notes, her improvisation, translating the former into lyricism, the latter into jazz essences. As a Neapolitan, obviously, I could not help but be attracted by her love for my city and for the artists who with her made the history of the vaudeville first, and then of cinema”.
