It was a tense night in Pizzofalcone, Naples, where residents were awakened by the screams and shouts of several people who started a furious street fight that woke the entire neighborhood.
The heated discussion, which lasted only a few moments before the police patrols intervened, did not turn into a fight or worse.
A resident reported the incident, which occurred on Via Egiziaca in Pizzofalcone, near a building known to have been occupied for years by members of recently evicted Camorra clans , to Green-Left MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli. The whistleblower explained that after noticing the furious argument, in which several threats were made, he called the police, who arrived with sirens blaring, forcing the arguing parties to flee.
“We have asked the police to investigate the incident and take action,” Borrelli said. “In areas with a high crime rate and a strong presence of the Camorra, which therefore influences social behavior, there needs to be a greater presence of the institutions and more officers on the streets to protect good people who are tired of certain acts of violence and abuse.”
